Wind farm radar LW-R25 WPP UAV Monitor & Warning Radar is an advanced, high-performance 3D ESA radar used for wind power plant (WPP) UAV monitoring and recognition, adopting numerous modern techniques such as fully coherent pulse Doppler, 2D active scanning in azimuth and elevation, elevation digital beam forming (DBF), simultaneous multi-beam receive, ground vehicle recognition based on map matching, monopulse estimation, and track-while-search (TWS).

1)Having some modern techniques such as active phased array (APA), digital beam forming (DBF), pulse compression, and fully coherent pulse Doppler enables this radar to search, detect and measure the low-flying non-cooperative targets, and provide the target information as range, azimuth, elevation and velocity. Theretofore this is a 3D Modern radar especially suitable for UAV monitoring in wind power plant.

2)Use of 2D active electrically-scanning array, no mechanical rotation equipment and high-reliability integrated microwave Tx/Rx devices dramatically increase the radar reliability.

3)Track-while-search (TWS) techniques help make the target range measurement, discriminate and reject false target tracks.

4)Use of wide-band pulse compression techniques increase the range resolution and ranging accuracy, thus dramatically reducing the clutter echoes, improving the quality of target tracks and reducing the radar false alarms.

5)Having big coverage, this radar is capable to monitor a wide area. One such radar can monitor one or more relatively close small or medium WPPs. The cost may be lowered by reducing the number of radars.

6)This ESA radar has stable beam steering, strong clutter rejection capability by use of clutter map techniques, and excellent clutter rejection performances.

7)Having fast beam scanning and high data rate, the ESA radar can eliminate false targets by track correlation and reduce false or wrong alarms.

8)This radar can work with elevated antenna at a place 5km away from the WPP to detect the UAVs attempting to fly over the WPP, and cancel the false alarms caused by rotating blades by use of the preset wind plant positions.

9)Having the function of on-line troubleshooting, the radar can make real-time failure reports.
